"On two separate occasions, I recommended additional bloodwork given Oliver's persistent fatigue. Both times, Lauren specifically discouraged the additional testing, citing his fear of needles and suggesting we simply monitor his symptoms instead."
"She was actively preventing you from finding the poisoning," Reyes said, making careful notes.
"That's my growing suspicion, yes," Dr. Kapoor said. "I want to be honest that I deferred to her judgment at the time, given her presence as his primary caregiver during medical appointments. I understand now, with painful clarity, exactly how that deference may have extended the duration of his exposure considerably."
